Timothy "Tim" J. Wirey

Timothy J. Wirey, 62, lifelong Morgan County resident, left this life unexpectedly on Saturday, December 18, 2021. He was born on January 14, 1959, in Franklin, IN, to the late Wendell W. Wirey and Barbara A. (Mitchell) Blomeley. A proud 1978 graduate from Monrovia High School, it was there he met the love of his life and soulmate, Kathy. After dating for four years, the happy couple were joyously united in marriage on October 16, 1982, at the Monrovia Christian Church. With a yearning to expand their little family, they were blessed with a cute and loving little baby boy. A proud father, he taught his son to work on cars at an early age, instilling in him a sense of pride with the use of his hands. A member of the Monrovia Christian Church, Tim was a talented saw operator, working for Davidson Industries for several years before retiring in 1995. In his younger days, he enjoyed taking his prized 1978 Cobra to the drag strip, Speeds, in Brown County. In his free time, he delighted in watching the Colts, as well as Nascar races, on TV. Although he could be strong willed at times, Tim loved his family deeply and would go to the ends of the earth to ensure their happiness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Along with his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Wayne Wirey. He leaves behind his wife Kathy L. (Bryant) Wirey of Martinsville; beloved son Chris Wirey (fiancée Stephanie) of Martinsville; siblings Edward L. Wirey of Danville, KY, Jeff Wirey, Kathy Adams (husband Bob), and Martha Adams (husband Brian), all of Cloverdale; along with his cherished grandchildren Kristen, Dallas, Daisy, and Suzie. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Perry Anderson will officiate, and burial will follow in West Union Cemetery.
