Shaun Parsons

Shaun Ray Parsons, 42, of Mooresville, unexpectedly departed from this world on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was born on January 10, 1982, in Indianapolis, to Floyd Ray and Lori (Williams) Parsons. Graduating from Mooresville High School with the class of 2000, Shaun possessed a quiet yet friendly demeanor, and his heart and emotions were worn on his sleeve. A hardworking and skilled handyman, Shaun was truly a jack-of-all-trades. Mechanically inclined, Shaun had a knack for rebuilding small motors and he could get just about anything running again. An avid collector with hoarder tendencies, he was able to turn junk into treasure and was an overall Master of Repairs. Shaun previously operated heavy machinery for Deerwester Development and was recently doing landscaping for Parks Outdoor Maintenance. A true outdoorsman, he loved to fish, camp, ride four-wheelers, and hunt morel mushrooms every spring. He was a grill master and a darn good cook who was generous to host and help every chance he could. Finding solace in music and journaling, Shaun was a talented and self-taught musician, playing both the guitar and drums. He had an eclectic taste of music and a heart that felt on deeper levels than the ordinary man. With a backpack of pens and paper, he made sense of all the madness, and he put it in his own perspective through writing. Shaun was a kind-hearted soul with a free spirit. He loved to pack up and visit his dad and grandparents in Virginia and he looked forward to getting together with family on Wednesday evenings. Throughout his life he was blessed to make several friendships and it is within the love and memories made, he leaves an indelible mark. Leaving this world without warning, he will be forever remembered and loved by all who shared his path. Rest easy, Shaun. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Parsons; paternal grandparents, Troy and Roberta Parsons; and stepfather, Alan Deerwester. Survivors include his mother, Lori Parsons of Mooresville; children, Dallas Fredrick Troy, Demie Lora, and Silas Ray; sister, Alexandira Parsons of Mooresville; nieces, Ruby and Riley; maternal grandparents, Earl and Rosalie Williams of Mooresville; along with a host of extended family members and friends. Funeral & Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service starting promptly at 7pm, on Wednesday May 22, 2024, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia.
