Sharon F. Spurlock

Sharon Fern (Stewart) Spurlock was born into a large and happy family on November 7, 1951, in Indianapolis, to the late Ernest Leland Stewart and Frances Louise (Stine) Stewart. Growing up, she spent time with her brothers, Johnny, Danny, and Little Ernie, and her sisters, Carolyn, Vesta Eileen, and Kathleen, singing country classic songs and bible hymns, or playing in the sunshine outdoors as often as she could. As an adult, she continued to cherish her siblings and loved to spend time with them. Sharon was genuine, free spirited and happy. She was always giggling or smiling and willing to babysit children or spend quality time with those less fortunate. She appreciated life in all forms and never missed an opportunity to hold a baby, read to children, watch the kids play, or even take them for a picnic at the park or for ice cream. She would “spoil them rotten” as often as she could and would take all the time in the world to do the special kid things with them when their busy parents were dashing here or there amidst busy schedules. She also loved her plants and animals of any kind. She was never too busy to spend precious time with anyone who crossed her path and never met a stranger. Sharon’s positivity and laughter will never be forgotten and lives on within us. She leaves behind her loving family including her four beloved children: Brandon, Kristal, Dustin and Amber; 17 grandchildren: Adam Jalen, Amaya, Brandon Jr., Brandy, Chadon, Claudia, Destiny, Devon, Elijah, Isaac, Jordan, Keely, Landon, Michael Levi, Sabbath, Walker and Zoey; several great grandchildren, but also were so many others she loved as her own such as Skyler, Sean and Trevor. She was known as Aunt Sharon to many nieces and nephews who can recite their happy memories with her all day long. She is also survived by her three sisters and her loving aunt, June Eileen Stine Kays. Due to the current restrictions from the COVID-19 outbreak, a limited visitation with no more than 25 people at one time, will be held on Monday, May 11, from noon until 2 p.m. at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Please bring a mask for your safety, along with the safety of others. Procession will follow to West Newton Cemetery for a Graveside Service. Please bring a lawn chair to follow social distancing guidelines. The family asks that in lieu of any memorial contributions to please plant a flower in her honor, and as it blooms each year let us remember Sharon.
