Sandra Sue Brenneman

Sandra Sue (Randel) Brenneman, 79, of Monrovia, unexpectedly left this world, joining her beloved son Randy in heaven on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis on June 25, 1941, to the late Otis Kenneth and Vera Mae (Dixon) Randel. Raised in the city, Sandy attended Ben Davis High School, proudly graduating with the class of 1959. In her early 20’s, she met the man of her dreams and soul mate, Max, while out dancing. The pair fell fast in love and were joyously united in marriage on November 21, 1964. With high aspirations and a desire for a quiet life, the family elected to make the move to the small-town life of Monrovia, purchasing their forever home in 1977. Sandy was previously employed with Deluxe Check Printing, and the Mooresville school system, but her true calling was being a stay-at-home mother. She babysat for extra money, ensuring her kids formed lifelong friendships. Her house was the home all the kids flocked to. Never missing a beat, if she woke up in the morning with extra kids sleeping, she happily fixed them all breakfast. Passionate about sports, she attended all her children’s sporting events, cheering them on from the stands. An avid Colts and IU basketball fan, Sandy took her dedication to her favorite team to a whole new level, dressing in matching colors to watch the games, often screaming at the tv, and sometimes waking family members up to share her disgust with their performance. A member of a euchre club, she and Max spent their evenings enjoying the company of friends while playing cards. The queen of her pool, she spent her summers soaking up the sun. Frequently naïve, Max reveled in pulling pranks on Sandy, telling her tall tales that she believed every time, often passing those tales onto others, giving them a good laugh. Fancy to the bone, and sassy to the core, Sandy was a truly loving and giving soul. She left this world in a blink of an eye, leaving all who knew and loved her with a void in their hearts that can never be filled. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Randy Brenneman; brother, Mike Randel; and mother-in-law, Marie Brenneman. Sandy leaves behind her husband of 56 wonderful years, Max Brenneman of Monrovia; children, Heather Turner (husband, Toby) of Bloomington, Jason Brenneman (Erin) of Monrovia, Holli Armstrong (husband, Charlie) of New Albany, and Casey Brenneman (wife, Darcie) of Monrovia; daughter-in-law, Jodi Brenneman of Mooresville; grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Lance, Cayce, Mary, Hunter, Mallory, Tyler, Brooke, Carli, Cash, Emily, Deacon, and Bella; 6 great grandchildren; along with her yorkie fur babies Bo and Barney. Per Sandy’s wishes, she asked that attendees “think pink” and come dressed in their favorite pink outfit. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Gathering of Friends & Family will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 4:00p.m., until 7:00p.m., at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 7:00p.m., and Pastor Keenan Steinway will officiate.
