Ronnie Harris Glassburn

Ronnie Kay (Harris) Glassburn, 57 years young, of Monrovia, was released of earthly ailments and gained her right to fly in spirit of the sky, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, while under hospice care in her daughter’s home in Martinsville. A stronghearted and boisterous woman, she promised to leave this world in the same manner that she entered; kicking and screaming and Ronnie did just that; checking out at 3:33 p.m. One of four children, she was born in Indianapolis, on February 18, 1961, to Richard and Rose (Lloyd) Harris. Learning to talk while briefly residing in Georgia, Ronnie’s roots were planted in Monrovia and she was raised in the green house on State Road 42. An energetic and overall happy person, she radiated good vibes and throroughly loved striking up conversations with good people that she instantly considered to be friends. Graduating from Monrovia High School in 1979, Ronnie connected with a younger classmate, Mark Glassburn; to whom she was blessed to share three children and a once in a lifetime, ride or die friendship. With a love for life and a constant will to drive, she previously worked for OCS where she delivered Japanese newspapers in Marion and Hamilton counties. In addition, she managed Sugarwood Apartments for 12 years. True to her word and always there for her kin, she knew what she wanted and she had a surefire way of getting exactly that. Locked and loaded, she was a well-caffeinated ray of sunshine and also a non-censored aggressive driver. Making friends wherever she went, she frequently went to Walmart, Starbucks or Blockbuster and it was guaranteed that she was going to engage in conversation with someone that she had never met. An equal opportunity listener, Ronnie loved all genres of music and movies. Enjoying the simple life, she was most content with spending one on one time with her kids and grandkids. She was a moviebuff and enjoyed picking a show from her massive collection of VHS and DVDs. Her enormously fun, loyal and warm presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Morgan. Survivors include her three children, Rebel Mings (husband, Andrew) of Martinsville, Kaleb Glassburn (wife, Erin) of Knightstown and Jake Glassburn of Monrovia; mother, Rose Harris of Monrovia; former spouse, Mark Glassburn of Monrovia; siblings, Richard Harris (wife, Micky) of Bedford and Kevin Harris (wife, Deanna) of Wilbur; adored grandchildren, Declan, Chloe, Randi, Emily, Ean, Dean and Sam; along with her two favorite feline companions, Waldo and Midge. A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will take place from 5 to 7p.m., on Thursday, on February 7, 2019, in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia, A brief sharing memories will be conducted by her daughter followed by a special movie feature served with popcorn for friends and family to laugh and enjoy.
