Misty Tuggle Payton

Misty Marie Tuggle Payton, 43, of Indianapolis, gained peace in eternal rest on Saturday, December 12, 2020, while comfortably sleeping in her own bed. She was born on April 4, 1977, in Indianapolis, to the late, Julie (Wade) Tuggle and John D. Payton, who survives. Misty attended Southport High School and connected to family and bonded later in life. Her previous jobs included working with a CNA firm, waitressing at a Moose Lodge in Indianapolis, serving as the head cook at U-Indy, painting with her sister at Bella’s Wallcoverings, and more recently for the Hampton Inn & Suites, Indianapolis Airport. Sharing a heart and home with a soulmate and dear friend, Carl Clem. Misty and Carl were quite the pair and enjoyed expanding their horizons with growing different things in the garden and cooking various things in the kitchen. A sucker for sun and always down to have fun, she loved to travel to the sunny beaches of Florida and Alabama. Applying herself to see and be the light that shares and shines on to others, Misty was a goodhearted and helpful person. Always the first to say, “I love you” and known to jump in and help where needed, she was loyal and loving to everyone around her. Not one to wish ill or cause harm, her kind and thoughtful nature was a force to reckon and take channel. A true testament to the bright colors that radiate in vibrational energy, her loving, laughing, and cheerful demeanor was complimented by the loads of love that she so generously held for others. Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepmom, Debbie Payton, grandparents, Vernon and Irene Payton and Jerry Wade; and a canine companion, Lilly. In addition to her father, John Payton (Crystal), she is survived by her soulmate and friend, Carl Clem; stepsiblings, Tammy Stock (Richard), John Payton, Lisa Massey, Rose House, Gabby Payton and James Lane; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Corey, Eli and Ethan Stock, Isaiah Rakes, Bella Lane, Emma Massey, Kaydence Dalton, Carmen Perkins and Colt Massey; along with an estranged grandmother, Alberta Wade. Misty had a larger-than-life presence and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, limiting public gatherings to include no more than 25 people, the family and close friends will wear facial coverings and gather at a safe distance for calling held from 4 to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12 Noon, on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the funeral home and burial will follow in West Newton Cemetery. All attendees are responsible to bring and wear their own mask and be mindful of time when waiting to enter the funeral home and while paying respects to the family.
