Joseph Lee Casteel II

Joseph L. Casteel, II, 32 years young of Martinsville, left broken hearts and a trail of tears when he left this world unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born in Martinsville, IN, on June 29, 1990, to Darin and Andrea (Robson) Moyer. Tight with his younger brother Cody from the beginning, and always trying to one up each other, the two were one of two things, best friends or enemies, there was no in-between. Rambunctious and slightly mischievous as a child, Joe was known to eat dirt and or mud, grinning up at his parents with a big smile covered in the mire. Summers were spent helping his maternal grandparents on their small farm in Camby, or gloriously riding his treasured dirt bike. After attending Eminence High School with the class of 2008, Joe found his passion in being an electrician, first working for AC Electrical, later gaining employment with Bash and Maxwell Electrical. Most recently, he was a dedicated Machine Operator for TOA. A soul that reveled in the spotlight, Joe thoroughly enjoyed being the center of attention, continuously entertaining you with his witty charm. While he could be a bit bull-headed at times, he was sincerely compassionate and giving, never missing a beat when he saw someone in need of assistance, from holding the door for the elderly, or helping carry groceries. He adored his children immensely, regularly getting on their level to play. Drawn to the quietness of water, Joe liked fishing and kayaking, creating with his Dremel tool, or simply playing video games. Established as a momma’s boy, he shared an unrivaled bond with his mom, making her days bright and cheery. Leaving this world all too soon, Joseph Casteel, II left a void in the lives of all who were blessed to have him in their lives. He will be deeply and forever missed. Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Mackenzie Ciara Moyer, and grandparents, Barbara and Curt Robson. He leaves behind his parents, Darin and Andrea (Robson) Moyer of Martinsville; children, Jazlynn, Grayson, and Wrenlee Casteel; brother, Cody Casteel of Martinsville; grandparents, Connie Garrett (Jay) of Martinsville, and Ed Moyer (Suzanne) of Florida; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral and Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia, and services will be held privately.
