Janice (Littell) Tolle

Janice C. (Littell) Tolle, 90, of St. Lucie, FL and formerly of Hazelwood, passed from this life on Monday, June 5, 2023. She was born at home in Hazelwood on November 17, 1932, to the late Milo D. and Vileta A. (Buis) Littell. Born and raised on the hill of the old farmstead in Hazelwood, Janice was one of five children. She attended Hazelwood Elementary School then Clayton High School. An animal lover, she enjoyed showing animals in 4-H, with her favorite being a lamb named Tootsie. Securing employment in downtown Indianapolis for William H Block, she also worked as a TSA Agent at Weir Cook Airport, as well as the Clayton Cafe’. A member of the Hazelwood Community Circle, she was a talented pianist and sang in the choir at the Hazelwood Christian Church. Packing her bags and heading south, Janice made the move to the subtropical climate of Florida in 1977. For a brief period in 1986, she lived in Arizona, ultimately going back to Florida where she spent the remainder of her years. Small yet mighty, she never met a challenge she was afraid of. She found great pleasure in sewing, swimming, boating, travelling, and was an Indy 500 fan reveling in Jim Nabors singing Back Home Again in Indiana. With a heart of gold, Janice was not one to meddle in the affairs of others and accepted everyone for who they were, never passing judgement. Patient and loving, she took life in stride enjoying the little things. Her radiant smile and wonderful sense of humor left an indelible mark on those around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Janice leaves behind her one and only beloved daughter, Connie Tolle (Kenny DiMarco) of St. Lucie, Fl. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Randall and Larry Littell, Kathleen “Tomy” Hall, and Mildred “Millie” Fidger. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Friends and family are invited to gather for Visitation from 5:00pm until 6:45pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the funeral home, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 6:45pm and Pastor Steve Ranson will officiate. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 11:00am in Center Valley Cemetery, with a luncheon following at the Hazelwood Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hazelwood Christian Church, 9947 S County Rd 0, Clayton, IN 46118, or to Nala’s New Life Rescue, 2740 SW Martin Downs Blvd, Suite 402, Palm City, FL 34990, and envelopes will be available during services.
