James Dewayne England

James Dewayne England, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away at 11:46 a.m., on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Methodist Hospital. The oldest son of seven, he was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on June 30, 1959, to James Earl and Janet (Smith) England. The oldest sibling of seven, Dewayne was raised in Indianapolis and graduated from Decatur High School in 1977. Deeply rooted to kin and true to the colors of red, white and blue, he proudly enlisted into the National Guard, where he served 13 years and was discharged as a Sergeant in 1989. He was united in marriage with Darlene Kay (Hudson) England on October 7, 1978. Most recently employed in material handling with Fed Ex, his previous employments include Olan Brass and Sara Lee. Equipped with quick wits and a smart-mouth, he enjoyed getting a rise out of others. Dewayne was an avid Nascar fan, and he enjoyed fishing and shooting his newly purchased guns. He will truly be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Dewayne was preceded in death by his father, James (Pete) Earl England and his canine fur-friend, Sparrow. Survivors include his wife, Darlene England; sons, Jeremy England (Lorelei), Justin and Alex England all of Indianapolis; beloved mother, Janet England of Indianapolis; siblings, Thresa Crohn (Larry), Jimbo Dale, Allen England, Gary England (Angie), Wiley England (Tina), and Susan Massey (Kevin); granddaughter, Caitlin Lucas; Aunts, Carolyn Frint (Ron), Pearl Eicher, Linda White, Mary Nunn and Barbara Sego (Wendell); fur baby, Luna. Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m., on Friday, March 22, 2019, in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will be conducted at graveside and services will conclude with burial in Floral Park Cemetery.
