Fanchon "Fran" Irene Whittington

Fanchon “Fran” (Latham) Whittington, 88 of Mooresville, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, November 14, while surrounded by her adoring family. She was born the oldest of four children on March 11, 1932 in Clay County, IN. Fanchon was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Hall, Indiana. She retired from Meridian Insurance in 1999 and lived her life to the fullest. If she was not spending time with her family, you could find her playing euchre, completing a puzzle, or attending weekly breakfasts with a local senior group. She never missed the opportunity to watch Family Feud or any sporting event on TV. She was a light to many and the rock of her family. She had a witty sense of humor, a quiet strength, and an unmatched compassion for all. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events, loved reading a good book, feeding her birds, and having adventures with her Jellybean Gang. Her family will miss her homemade noodles, words of wisdom, and kind spirit. Fanchon was preceded in death by her mother, Mazo (Schroer) Rollings, her son Gary Whittington, her sister and brother-in-law Roberta and Wendell Mauerer, and brother-in-law Wayne Hinton. She leaves her legacy of strength and compassion to her children, Kenneth A. Whittington (Becky), Randy Whittington, and Darla Whittington; grandchildren, Steven Inlow (Becca), Tranetta Hutcheson, Daniel Inlow-Shields (Lara), Thomas Whittington, and Mikinzie O'Neal; great-grandchildren, Chad, Keenan, Lilly, and Charlotte; siblings, Melvin Rollings (Susie) and Emily Hinton; her niece, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Her loyal pup Shaggy will miss her copious amounts of treats. Cremation and Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather for a Graveside Service on Saturday, November 21, at 1:00pm in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, and Randy Weddle will officiate. Fanchon treasured visits, greeting cards, and phone calls received from friends and loved ones.
