Bryan Acton

Bryan Lee Acton, 51, resident of Wilbur, formerly Indianapolis, passed from this life at 12:05 a.m., on Sunday, September 16, 2018 after a brief and courageous battle with illness. He was born on November 20, 1966, in Indianapolis, to the late Jack Loren and Delores (Joyce) Acton. A Harley Davidson loving, motorcycle and corvette enthusiast, Bryan was raised in Indianapolis and graduated from Manual High School in 1985. Driving a truck and mechanically inclined, he was a past member of the Teamsters Local#135 and previous employed at UPS on 81st Street and Kirby Risk. Making the most of life, Bryan was known to be a straight shooting, tell it like it is good guy and jokester. Always loyal, he was true to his values; living a full life with purpose driven by God, family, fast cars, custom motorcycles and good friends. Once recognized in a magazine for possessing a notable amount of mad ping-pong skills, he played a mean game of ping-pong and belonged to a club. In addition to bikes and ‘vettes, he enjoyed fishing, boating and golfing. Bryan and his wife, Shannon recently moved to Morgan county, where they settled onto a beautiful piece of secluded property in Wilbur and frequently attended Sunday services at Mt. Olive Country Chapel. Although Bryan was deprived of old age and good health, he now leaves an open throttled legacy and fifty-one years of cherished memories to those who were blessed to cross paths. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, Vernon Acton and his beloved motorcycle riding dog, Joey. Survivors include his wife, Shannon Marie (Taylor) Acton of Wilbur; son, Bryan Michael “Mike” Acton (wife, Caroline) of Mooresville; step-children, Cody Wells of Oak Hill, West Virginia and Sierra Lyons (fiancé, Elliot) of Greenwood; three sisters, Faith Stephens and Teresa Acton both of Nashville and Elizabeth Goldsberry (husband, Jeff) of Bloomington; two adored grandchildren, Karigan and Kaden; close friends, Paul Stretshberry of Greenwood and Jimmy Sheek (wife, Andrea) of Franklin along with a host of extended family members, good friends and co-workers. Visitation will be held on prior to services on Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00p.m., in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Pastor Brian Fleener along with Jeff Goldsberry will officiate the Celebration of Life Service; promptly beginning at 3:00p.m. Bryan will take his final ride in the Tombstone Harley Hearse and the funeral procession will follow in for burial at Mt.
