Roy M. Sizemore
September 23, 1954 - April 20, 2022
Roy M. Sizemore, 67, of Quincy, passed from this life unexpectedly while in the care of St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Sneedville, TN on September 23, 1954, to the late Hugh G. Sizemore and Viola Mae (Stidham) Sturgil. In Roy’s youth the family made the northern trek for a more prosperous life landing in Indianapolis where he attended Wood High School. Securing employment with Toyishima Special Steel as an accomplished supervisor, Roy devoted 22 years of hard work and dedication, honing his skills in the art of all things steel. In 1989 the sweet neighbor lady became smitten with Roy. She knew the moment she laid eyes on him he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Decked out in a sexy pink dress, she finally caught his eye. The pair dated for several years before sealing the love affair with I dos on Valentine’s Day in 1997. Settling in Quincy at the beginning of the happy couple’s twilight years, to be closer to the youngest daughter Jamie, they proudly raised a small farm consisting of an array of animals from turtles to horses. Known for his love of all things mechanical, tinkering around on cars and motorcycles were some of Roy’s favorite past times, passing on his innate talents to his son Jason. An Indianapolis Colts fans, he also delighted in cheering his favorite NASCAR driver, Kyle Bush on. Sarcastic by nature and funny to the core, he relished in aggravating and instigating his adored family, referring to his nieces as nephews, and in turn they called him Aunt Roy. Above all, Roy was a devoted loving husband and father, holding his family high, instilling the value of hard work into his children. He will be forever missed but for now just remember “who loves ya, baby”! Along with his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his siblings Don Sizemore, Wanda Erwin, Julia Hilton, Eunice, and Mary Ellen Sizemore. Roy leaves behind his beloved wife of 25-years, Debbie L. (Crull) Sizemore of Quincy; children, Donna Mae, and Jason Scott Sizemore, both of Indianapolis, Jason Bryan Krintz of Monticello, Jeremy Adam Krintz of Reynolds, and Jamie Lynn Garrett (Jeremy) of Monrovia; grandchildren, Cassandra Mercedes and Noah Steel Sizemore of Indianapolis, and Aubrie Mae and Kolton David Garret of Monrovia; along with several adored nieces and nephews. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the funeral home, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Randy Weddle will officiate, and burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, 585 E Main St., Monrovia, IN 46157 to help offset his unexpected final arrangements.
