Pam Tate
June 1, 1956 - May 12, 2022
Pamela “Pam” J. (Brickert) Tate, 65, of Whiteland, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, May 12, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis on June 1, 1956, to the late Charles Leroy and Betty Lou (Rickert) Brickert. Raised in the rural small-town community of Belleville, Pam attended Cascade High School. Introduced to a handsome young man named John by his sister, he wooed her in with his boyish charm and fun-loving outlook on life. the pair were joyously united in marriage on June 29, 1974, settling in Plainfield to begin their 47-year love affair. Employed with Westminster Village in the housekeeping department for several years, Pam’s true calling was being a homemaker. With the arrival of her miracle baby, Krista, the dynamic duo became the happy family they always longed to be. One to never pass up a bargain, she enjoyed spending her Friday’s shopping with her mom, wandering through neighborhoods stopping at yard sales, along with visiting Goodwill stores. With an adventuresome spirit, Pam happily traded her car for a motorcycle so she and John could run the roads with the wind in their hair. The family regularly took trips to Ohio and Kentucky landing in London, KY for the annual Chicken Festival where they stayed in the local Baymont Hotel to get their party on. She frequently attended her adored grandchildren’s school events, when she wasn’t spending time with her two best friends, Brenda, and Mary. The sweetest kindest soul you will ever meet, Pam was a strong and loving matriarch. During her time on earth, she managed to maintain a free-spirited outlook on life, spoiling her daughter and grandkids, even with her failing health in the last few years. She was a gentle and kind soul and will be forever missed. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Cyrus Brickert. She leaves behind her husband John L. Tate of Whiteland; cherished daughter, Krista Tate of Whiteland; siblings, Barbara Warner of Indianapolis, Charles Brickert (Sue) of Center Grove, Clayton Brickert (Tina) of Gosport, Chris Brickert of Eminence’ and Sarah Brickert (David) of Roachdale; grandchildren, Jackson and Arya Franklin; along with her best friends, Brenda Gatliff of Beech Grove, and Mary Curry Rowlett of Indianapolis. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, May 19, from 11am to 1pm., with a Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 1pm. Pastor Dennis Ouellette will officiate services and burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery.
