Kenneth "Kenny" Duane Arthur

Kenneth “Kenny” D. Arthur, 87, of Monrovia, passed from this life on Monday, October 28, 2019 in the comfort of his own home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Martinsville on August 8, 1932 to the late Irvin and Iris (Ratts) Arthur. Kenny grew up in Paragon and attended Martinsville High School. He later went on to proudly serve his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his service, Kenny met his future wife, Faye. The two settled into Monrovia and started their life together. A hard-working man, Kenny supported his family working for Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Cox’s Plant Farm and Midwest Tank for over twenty years. Always tinkering around the house, he never asked for help; he preferred to do things on his own. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Strong willed and quick tempered, Kenny loved his family. He was a proud father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all. Along with his parents, Kenny was proceeded in death by his brothers, Richard, Keith and Dwight Arthur; and sister, Betty Duncan. He leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Faye (Kincaid) Arthur of Monrovia; children, Lauren Arthur (wife, Debbie) of Brownsburg, Carla Derringer (former husband John Derringer), Roberta Arthur, Becky Reynolds (husband, Darrell), all of Martinsville; siblings, Alan Arthur of Martinsville, Bill Arthur (wife, Janet) of Paragon, and Linda Thacker (husband, Danny) of Martinsville; grandchildren, Andrea, John, Brittany, Gabe, Brandon, Kortney, Bucky, Jessica, Jason, Steven and Bobby; twenty-three great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and his fur baby, Roscoe. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Graveside Service will be conducted immediately following at West Union Cemetery in Monrovia, with full Military Honors.
