William Sek

William John Sek, 49, of Mooresville, suddenly passed away in a tragic automobile accident on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. He was born on June 18, 1969, at Langley Airforce Base in Hampton, Virginia. A 1987 graduate from Silver Creek High School in New York, William was so inspired by his Father's service in the Air Force, he proudly enlisted in the US Army, where he actively served in during the Gulf War and was deployed with the C Battery 6/27th FA Desert Storm. Specializing in plumbing and HVAC, Bill graduated from Alfred Tech in 1993 and previously owned and operated his own company called Abel Plumbing. A loving father, husband, son and brother, Bill was a sponge for knowledge and he did everything possible to pass it along to his loved ones. He was united in marriage with Rosella Dickerson on May 23, 1998; to whom he was blessed to share in raising a step-daughter and two children of his own. A survivalist, Bill was environmentally intact and always aware of his surroundings. Full of emotions and a sponge for knowledge, he took advantage of every opportunity to serve as a mentor to his wife and children; instilling and encouraging them to be independent, resourceful and prepared in all situations. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed gold panning, riding four wheelers, camping, hunting for bonsai trees and spending time with family and friends. Always supportive of his loved ones endeavors, his presence will be deeply missed and his memory will be treasured. Survivors include his wife, Rosella Sek of Mooresville; children, Jake and Jenna Sek of Mooresville and Brittany Walczesky of Tennessee; parents, Dan Sek (wife, Suzanne) and Winona “Winnie” (husband, Steve) Peters of Silver Creek, New York; siblings, Rob Sek, Danny Sek (wife, Kerry), Shelby Sek along with two a step-brother Sean Peters and Stacie Bauer all of New York; mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Dickerson of Camby. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with full Military Honors will begin at 7pm, on Tuesday, August 21st, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Friends and family may gather prior to services from 5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Bill’s family to offset unexpected funeral and living expenses c/o Light Memorial, 585 E. Main St., Monrovia, IN 46157.
