Viola Lynch

Viola M. (Greer) Lynch, 84, of Mooresville passed from this life on Friday, June 7, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 27, 1934 to the late James M. Lynch and Nona (Baker) Greer. Born in London, Kentucky, Viola and her family spent the first part of her youth living the simple, yet happy years. When the Great Depression came about, the family moved to Cincinnati where she spent her teenage years and her father could secure work. Married for forty years to her husband Mitchel, the pair managed Roland Manor Apartments in Indianapolis. After Mitchel’s passing in 1998, Viola met her new beau, Juan Hummel. The two spent their twilight years enjoying winters in Florida where they loved to be on the water fishing or sitting in the sun on the pontoon. A country woman, Viola enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved gardening, canning vegetables, listening to country music, playing bingo, scrabble and pinochle; and she loved spending time dancing at the Moose Lodge. Most of all, Viola was dedicated to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Along with her parents and husband, Viola was preceded in death by her significant other, Juan Hummel and grandson, Donny Curts. Viola is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Lynch) Curts (husband, Don) of Mooresville; sister, Ruby Bell of Ohio; grandchildren, Casey Collins (husband, Tim, Sr.), Christopher Curts (wife, Jessica), both of Mooresville, Mandi Jessup (husband, Kevin) of McCordsville; great grandchildren, Ariana, Zeke, Timmy Jr., Levi, Nathan, Haley and Jackson. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Viola's life on Tuesday, June 11, from 11am to 1pm at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery, where a Graveside service will be conducted.
