Stanley Pridemore

Stanley Pridemore, 71, of Monrovia, was released of all earthly ailments and joined his son, Stanley, Jr. in Heaven, on Friday, June 26, 2020. He was born in Bedford on March 26, 1949, to the late Kirzie H. and Blanche (Davison) Pridemore. The youngest of twenty-one children, Stan grew up in Mitchell. At the tender age of 14, he met the love of his life, Marcella. The two dated for four years before marrying after high school and started their cherished family. Drafted into the U.S. Army during Vietnam, Stan bravely served his country for two years. The happy family lived in Milhon Addition, before moving to Echo Lake for eighteen years, then settling comfortably in Wilbur. A true family man and a hard worker, Stan was diligent to provide for his wife and sons. He was a self-employed mobile home contractor and may be remembered from previous positions held at the Kindricks Hospital in Mooresville, for Monroe-Gregg Schools, and the 76 Truck Stop and he retired from Aquatic Designs. A loyal, and fun-loving character, Stan’s true happiness was found in family and nature. An artist at heart, he thoroughly enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and woodworking. Quick witted with a keen sense of humor, Stan delighted in spreading laughter. Stubborn and prideful at times, his soul was softened with the birth of each grandchild. He will be deeply missed by all. Along with his parents and son, Stan was preceded in death by his siblings, Leon, Harold, Lois, Eugene, Henry, James, Mike, Winnie, Clarence, Juanita, Marvin, Kenny, Carolyn, Mary Jane, Eva and Wayne; and a grandchild, Jody Gulsby. Stan is survived by his wife of 52 years and five days, Marcella (Hunsucker) Pridemore of Monrovia; children, Tim Pridemore (wife, Lori) of Monrovia, Jason Pridemore (wife, Vickie) of Alabama, John Pridemore (wife, Amy) of Plainfield, and Adam Pridemore (wife, Lindsay) of Monrovia; siblings, Kathleen of Chicago, Helen of Georgia, Roy of Shelbyville, and Charlie of Greenwood; grandchildren, Nick Pridemore (wife, Jacci) of Mooresville, Natalie Gamble (husband, Cameron) of Monrovia, Billy, Madisyn, Isabelle, Emma, Hudson, and Ellie Pridemore; Great grandchildren, Daphnie, Colson, Railyn, Adeline and Ainsley. Friends and Family are invited to pay their respects during a Drive-by Visitation at the Monrovia Christian Church on Wednesday, July 1, from noon to 2:00pm. A private service will follow, and Pastor Richard Dickison will officiate. Stan will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia.
