Ronald Lee Bolton Jr.

Ronald Lee “Robo” Bolton, Jr., 65, of Martinsville, traded the earthly constraints of ALS and gained eternal peace on Monday, February 16, 2026. The youngest of six children, he was born on November 27, 1961, in Indianapolis, to the late Ronald Lee Bolton, Sr. and Patricia Ann (Scott) Bolton. Robo attended Indianapolis Public Schools and Tech High School. From a young age, he shared his father’s passion for mechanics, spending countless hours tinkering on projects and rebuilding cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Experiencing a lifetime of love and strong family values, Robo found his soulmate and best friend, April Lynn, through a family introduction. Together, they shared over 40 years of life, laughter, and devotion, completing their family with two children, Magan and Ronald Lee Bolton III. A "rockstar" in personality and a legend to those who knew him, Robo was a fun-loving, outgoing spirit who never met a stranger. He was the kind of man who would stop for anyone stranded on the side of the road and was quick to "adopt" brothers and cousins wherever he went. Professionally, Robo was a master of his craft. He spent years installing carpet and hardwood flooring, where he was known for always exceeding expectations. When he wasn't working, he was likely riding his root-beer brown Harley, camping at Cataract, or enjoying the company of fellow riders and friends at the Mooresville and Martinsville American Legion. His annual fall parties were the highlight of the season for his family and friends. Though he faced the cruel debilitations of ALS over the last decade with grit and resilience, his spirit remained unbroken. He took everything the disease threw at him and gave back a legacy of strength and love. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who shared in his journey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rick and Steve Bolton. Survivors include his loving companion , April Lynn of Martinsville; children, Magan Bolton (Jake Ridener) and Ronald Lee Bolton, III (Erica) all of Martinsville; grandchildren, Lylah, Khloie, Wrenley, and Wyatt; siblings, Mike Bolton (Sue) of Indianapolis, Terry Bolton (Joe) of Greencastle, and Jamie Busic (Doryln) of Indianapolis; mother-in-law, Shirley Smith of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Robin Lynn of Indianapolis; canine companion, Lucy, Molly, Merle, and Elsa; along with a host of extended family members and friends. Funeral and cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, in Monrovia. An inurnment of ashes will take place in Highland Lawn Cemetery, in Terre Haute and a Celebration of Life Service will be shared at a later date.
