Reggie Dean Johnson

Reggie Dean Johnson, 77, of Plainfield, passed from this life of a broken heart and was rejoined with his beloved wife Sue in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 12, 2024, while in the comfort of his home and his devoted daughter, Brandy, at his bedside. He was born in Crawfordsville, IN on September 15, 1947, to the late Vernon D. and Wilma J. (Needham) Johnson. Raised in Crawfordsville, Reggie and his family moved to Bainbridge where he graduated from High School with the class of 1964. Upon graduation he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country for two years. After his discharge, he secured employment with Chrysler as a assembler and worked there until retirement. Reggie met his future wife Merletta “Sue” Miller while on a fishing trip with her dad. The pair were happily united in marriage on March 20, 1968, and spent 56 years together. A member of the Monrovia Christian Church, he was truly a simple man. He found his joy in fishing, golfing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his loving family. He will be forever missed. Along with his parents, Reggie was preceded in death by his wife Sue, who left this world just two and a half months ago. Survivors include his children, Brad Johnson (wife, Lina) of Mooresville, Brian Johnson (wife, Juanita) of Speedway, Brandy Elliott (husband, Chuck) of Mooresville; grandchildren, Brandon Johnson (wife, Ally), Blake Johnson, and Brady Johnson all of Mooresville, Jordan Johnson of Wilbur, Justin Johnson of Mooresville, Kiley Elliott of Tampa, FL, Kelsey Elliott and Kaitlyn Elliott both of Mooresville, Joshua Elliott of Plainfield; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Sherry Green of MO, and Andy Johnson (Karen) of Crawfordsville. Cremation Arrangements are entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Respecting Reggie's wishes, there will be no formal service. The family welcomes you to celebrate his life and memories in your own special way.
