Mason "Dale" Storm

Mason “Dale” Storm, 62, of Monrovia, took his last breath while helping his oldest son work on his house on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1962, in Martinsville to the late Albert Ficklyn and Gloria Dorthea (Daw) Storm. Meaner than a snake from a young age, Dale attended Monrovia High School and enlisted into the United States Army at 17, spending 4 years in Germany serving his country. Upon discharge, he found work as a talented carpenter with the union until an unfortunate accident that rendered him disabled. Developing a loving relationship with fast cars and fast bikes from a young age, his ultimate rides were Chevy’s and Harley Davidson’s, and he was known to scare the bejesus out of his passengers all in good fun. An old hippy with a free spirit, Dale enjoyed the great outdoors spending his time hunting, fishing and camping. A man who lived life to the fullest and strictly on his terms, he liked shooting pool, jamming to music, throwing knives (that he made), and was a master woodworker. He loved his grandkids dearly, often slipping them candy when their parents said no, and gave in to every want or desire they had. A fun dad, he was blessed to father three upstanding men. He will be remembered by all. Along with his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Storm. He leaves behind his sons, Ryan Storm (Morgan) of Monrovia, Derek “Heavy” Storm (Brittney) of Indianapolis, and Mason Storm of Monrovia; siblings, Lewis Storm of Mooresville, Albert Allan Storm (Ellen) of Monrovia, and Peggy Bond (Richard) of Indianapolis; the mothers of his children, Jenny Storm-Day of Monrovia, and Ashley Brenneman of Mooresville; grandchildren, Brycen, Virgil, Leonard, Austynn Dawn, Gracie, Reznor, Ellison, and River; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral and Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Attendees are asked to come rolling in driving their fastest cars and bikes in true Dale Storm fashion. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00am until Military Honors beginning at 1:00pm.
