Mary Margaret Parker

Mary Margaret (Jeffries) Parker, 77, of Eminence, passed from this life on Thursday, June 7, 2018, while under the care of St. Vincent Hospice and with family at her side. She was born on March 15, 1941, in Waveland, Indiana to the late Lloyd Russell and Pattie Louise (Smith) Jeffries. Mary Margaret graduated from Waveland High School in 1959. A spiritual woman and follower of Christ, she met her soulmate, William Marvin Parker during a church retreat at the Isaac McCoy Baptist Camp in Cloverdale. After a year of dating, the two were united in marriage on June 15, 1968. A talented pianist, Mrs. Parker formerly played the piano at the Corinth Baptist Church in Plano. Always maintaining an active role in church, the Parker's were currently attending Faith Baptist Church, Avon. A selfless, loyal, conservative lady, she possessed a positive demeanor and was an all-around fun person to be around. Fully committing herself to God and her family, Mary Margaret devoted herself to Bill, her two children and grandchildren. She loved to see the flowers outside and liked all kinds of animals; especially her beloved cat, Sneaky, who showed up as a stray and was determined to stay. A collector of lighthouses and handmade Amish items, Bill and Mary Margaret enjoyed stopping to peruse around in various flea markets and yard sales. A beautiful and kind soul, she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Along with her parents, Mary was reunited in heaven with her granddaughter, Lunden. Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Bill Parker of Eminence; daughter, Crystal Chappell (husband, Jonathan) of Wilmington, Illinois; son, William R. Parker (wife, Lesa) of Plainfield; brother, William Jeffries of Waveland; grandchildren, Parker Chappell, Noah and Billy Parker, Rachael and Ryan Freeman; and her feline fur baby, Sneaky. Friends and family are invited to Celebrate Mary's Life for a Memorial Service beginning at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 16, 2018, in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia, with Pastor Marc Monte officiating services.
