Marjorie "Marge" Terrell

Marjorie A. “Marge” (Beck) Terrell, 93, of Monrovia, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, March 13, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born at home in Bainbridge on June 14, 1932, to the late Clarence E. and Josephine L. (Walters) Beck. Raised on a farm in the rural country life of Putnam County, Marge was instilled with the value of hard work from an early age. She played the clarinet in school and proudly graduated with the class of 1950 from Bainbridge High School. Set up on a blind date, Marge met the man who would become her husband, life partner, and father of her five children. The pair dated for 2 years before being united in marriage on August 25, 1950, and spent 71 years together until Bill’s passing in 2021. In 1953, Marge and Bill built their forever home, the first house constructed in Milhon addition, it was there that they raised their five children. In their free time, the family loved spending time together camping in state parks, visiting Amish country, and taking bus tours to Branson, Missouri, and Pigeon Forge. These trips created many special memories that they cherished through the years. While Marge worked for a few different places throughout the years, such as a salesperson at Famous Footwear, Automotive Armature, and as a receptionist for O’Dell’s Hair Salon, her true calling was being a devoted wife and mother. She attended Gasburg Baptist Church, was a talented seamstress and baker, and grew a large vegetable garden each year, canning the fruits of her labor. She kept her kids in line, and they helped around the house whether they liked it or not. She loved birds, especially hummingbirds and was known to feed them, along with the neighborhood squirrels. Spunky, stubborn, and sometimes a spit fire, Marge didn’t have a filter and often blurted out her thoughts, much to the amusement of those around her. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband and daughter, she will be forever missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her. Along with her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Terrell; daughter Lisa Morgan; and siblings, Phyllis Sutherland, Gerald Beck, and Charles Richard Beck. Marge leaves behind her children Diana Hernly, Terry Cooney (Mike), Gary Terrell (Lisa), and Doug Terrell (Jenny), all of Monrovia; brother, Gene Beck (Alice) of Bainbridge; grandchildren Rob McCloud (Marcy), Shane McCloud (Tina), Tonya Merritt (Josh) Jennifer Riddle (Dave) all of Monrovia, Melissa Cain (Micah) of Avon, Rocky Terrell (Crissie), Courtney Crew (Justin), Allissa Terrell, Will Terrell, all of Monrovia, David Cooney (Amy) of Greenwood, Aaron Morgan (Chelsea) of Plainfield, and Brittany Diaz (Cristihan) of Indianapolis; 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, with one more on the way. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate, and Marge will be carried by horse drawn hearse to her final resting place, alongside Bill, in West Union Friends Cemetery.
