Kristina Griffith

Kristina Lynn Griffith, 52, of Morgantown and formerly Indianapolis, was called into the comfort of Heaven on Saturday, September 4, 2021, where she passed at 11:48 a.m, in IU Methodist Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1968, in Indianapolis, to the late Ronald Griffith and Georgianna (Acton) Neville. Far from falling into the category of anything boring and normal, Kris was unique to lead a life of unconditional and immeasurable amounts of love. Having one sister and three brothers, she attended West Newton Elementary School and Decatur High School. Deeply connected to the grounding spirit of mother nature, she enjoyed collecting Native American memorabilia. A ton of meaning went into everything that she did. Residing in the city of Indianapolis most of her life, the gift of motherhood and golden years of raising a family was shared at the side of Steve Sherers. Continuing in her mother’s tradition, she purchased a cabin in the countryside of Clay County, Brazil and on weekends they enjoyed the great outdoors of camping, fishing, and campfires. A tireless hero and full-time mediator, Kris was the backbone and glue that worked hard to keep the family together. No matter the struggle and feelings that were hard for her to bearer, her family was put on a pedestal and above all, she did it for love. Kris was most content when in the chosen company of family and friends, where memories, laughter and beverages were being shared. Always considerate to the well-being of others, her simple, kindred soul was full of compassion, and she generously marched into the service of helping people that was in her ability. Keeping her focus on the greater good side of life, she was attracted to nature, animals, and all people. She found her greatest joy and pride in the four beings in which she grew. A mother who was fierce to love, first to play and present to see that her children got to where they were needed, even if it meant holding their hands and walking them the entire way. She refused to give up in the hard times and genuine to step in and help, Kris was humble, kind and rare to her own kind. Willing to shelter the homeless, her heart was pure, and her feelings were immense to feel. She was beautiful to shine her love and light. Called away from the world, she was successful to find purpose and share in fun and laughter that her presence will remain to linger as a memory in the hearts of those whom she was so eager to deeply care and love. Comfortably resting in heaven, she was preceded in death by her mother, Georgianna Neville and father, Ronald Griffith; along with her recently departed sister, Karen Rutar. Leaving behind her beloved children, Ashley Griffith (companion, Michael Morgan) of Louisville, Kentucky; Jon Sherers (wife, Destiny) of Indianapolis, Krystel Sullivan (husband, Brett) of Brazil and Samantha Sherers of Indianapolis; former husband, Steve Sherers of Indianapolis; brothers, Ronnie and Ricky Griffith, and Billy Neville; companion, Ed Hubert of Morgantown; and cherished grandbabies, Lucas Michael, Sariah Alexandria Lyn, Theoden Allen and baby girl Sherers who is to arrive in October. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. There will be no services, as the family has planned to Celebrate her Life with a casual gathering and cookout.
