Kathy Lavonne Malott

Kathy Lavonne Malott, 67, of Plainfield passed peacefully from this life in the early hours on Sunday, June 7th, 2026, while in the care of Hendricks Regional Hospital. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 24, 1958, to Wayne and Kathleen (Fugate) Malott. She attended Preble Shawnee School Corporation in Camden, Ohio before moving to Stilesville, Indiana with her parents in 1973. Kathy then attended Cascade High School and graduated in 1976. She devoted 18 years at Public Service of Plainfield, Indiana and 30 years at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital, in Danville, Indiana in the Childbirth Center and in the Central Sterile Department. Kathy was blessed to have such a wonderful work family at the hospital who she loved dearly. A dedicated daughter, sister, aunt and friend Kathy prided herself in her natural gift of taking care of those around her and going above and beyond for the people she loved. Her passion was to take care of others, and she definitely conquered that task. She loved cooking, baking, being with her family, playing cards and bingo and most of all she enjoyed going to Las Vegas with her sisters and brother. Kathy will forever be missed, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to have known her. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Kathleen Malott, brother Anthony Malott, brother-in-law's Jimmy Robinson and Tim Finney. She leaves behind her sister-in-law, Debby Malott (Camden, Ohio), sisters, Debbie Robinson (Plainfield, Indiana) and Terry Finney (Miamisburg, Ohio) and her brother, Rusty Malott and his wife, Deb (Eminence, Indiana) along with her nieces and nephews, and her fur baby, Ollie. Cremation and Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, Monrovia. Friends and family are invited to gather for a Graveside Service on Friday, June19, at 1:00pm in Stilesville Cemetery, and Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate. Refreshments will be served at the Monrovia Christian Church, 710 Gordon Rd, Monrovia, IN 46157 immediately following services, and Kathy’s family would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to those who wish to join in for food and fellowship.
