JR Langford

Vernon Owen “JR” Langford, Jr., 67, of Monrovia, passed from this life at 8:27 a.m., on Friday, August 24, 2018, while surrounded by loved ones and within the comfort of his own home. He was born to the late, Vernon and Ruth (Hutton) Langford, JR entered this world on February 7, 1951. Raised in Indianapolis, Mr. Langford attended Washington High School. An honest, loyal and extremely proud family man, JR was a supportive and loving father, husband and grandpa. Sharing nearly fifty years of marriage with his best friend and soulmate, Pamela Sue (Keaton); to whom he asked to join him and mutual friends for a double date at the drive-in. Pam and JR were not only a team, they were business partners; formerly owning and locally operating, Langford Delivery Service, where he locally delivered mulch and landscaping products from Greendell Mulch & Mix. In addition to trucking, JR dedicated 20 years of mechanical service to Yellow Freight, where he was a member of the Teamsters Local#135. A soft spoken, straight-shooting, honest and hardworking man, he took pride in caring for his home and property and most of all, he thoroughly cherished spending time with family. JR liked to travel and found great joy in surf fishing. Leading a meaningful life with purpose, he lived to the fullest and his memory will always remain in the hearts of all of who were blessed to know and love him. Survivors include his wife, Pam Langford of Monrovia; two children, Robin Nichol Young (husband, Donny) of Indianapolis and Scott Christopher Langford of Columbus; grandchildren, Amanda (husband, Travis), Kaitlyn, Jake (wife, Sarah), Meghan, Anthony, Danielle (husband, Ram); 2 great grandchildren, Rylan and Davin along with a host of loyal friends and distant family members. Per Mr. Langford’s wishes, funeral services will not be observed. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia.
