John Wesley Quinn

John W. Quinn, 53, lifelong resident of Cartersburg, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, August 17, 2024 while in the comfort of his own home. He was born in Danville, IN on June 20, 1971, to the late James Wesley and Marjorie Fern (Jackson) Quinn. The youngest of three sons, John was his grandmother’s favorite, and she regularly doted on him. He was a 1989 graduate of Cascade High School and continued his education at IUPUI where he earned a BA at the Kelly School of Business. Realizing he didn’t want a life sitting behind a desk, and one not to sit still, John secured employment with UPS and dedicated 27 years of service as a delivery driver for the company. An avid sports fan, John spent his free time cheering on his favorite teams; the Colts, IU Basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, and he followed European soccer. He loved to travel and was known to hop in his Ford to take impromptu trips out west or to Michigan. He was most recently blessed to visit Ireland, Scotland, and London. An amateur photographer, he captured beautiful shots of the places he visited. A kind, loyal, and generous soul, John kept a wide circle of friends and would do anything for anyone. He found joy in making people happy, kept his home immaculate, worked hard every day of his life, and remained loyal to the people he held dear. Gone from this life all too soon, he will be forever loved and missed. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his two brothers, Steve and Mike Quinn. He leaves behind his niece, Ashley Hutcheson (Seth) of Clayton; nephew, Jason Quinn (Hannah) of Danville; sister-in-law, Sherie Quinn of Danville; and great nephews and great niece, Luke, J.B., and Magnolia. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Cartersburg Community Church, 3990 Cartersburg Rd, Plainfield, IN 46168, from noon until a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 1:00pm. John will be laid to rest in Springhill Cemetery in Danville at a later date with a private Committal Service and Inurnment.
