John Hall

John Francis Hall, 73, of Eminence passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on December 12, 2016. He was born on July 27, 1943 in Indianapolis, to the late Carl and Alene (Barnette) Hall. John grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Howe High School in 1971. An admirable and faithful servant to God and his country, John was a veteran of the United States Navy. He previously worked as a Locksmith and an agent for retail loss prevention insurance. In addition, he was a police officer in Daytona Beach, Florida, Perry, Oklahoma and Edinburg, Indiana. John and his wife Kelli currently owned the shooting range located on State Road 142 and for the last five years he operated the John Hall School of Gun Instruction. An honorable gun enthusiast, John was an advocate of the 2nd Amendment and was passionate about instructing gun safety. He was a member of the Whiteland Gracepoint Church, Morgan County F.O.P., Nation Rifleman’s Association (NRA) and past reserve member at Heslar Naval Armory in Indianapolis. In his spare time, he liked to play golf and teach bowling. Above all, John was an ornery, spirited and funny man. He will be deeply missed and dearly remembered by many loved ones and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don Hall. John leaves behind his loving wife, Kelli (Cheek) Hall; to whom he was united in marriage on April 20, 1991; son, Bryan Hall (wife, Joanne Hall) of Avon; daughter, Kelley Nicole Hall; grandchildren, Tarah Hall and Bryan Hall, Jr.; father-in-law, Woody Cheek; sister-in-law, Kathy Susko and brother-in-law, Woody Cheek, Jr.all of Eminence. Friends and family will gather for visitation from 4-8pm, on Friday, December16, 2016, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11am, on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Devney will officiate services and burial will take place in Shumaker Cemetery.
