Jill Cornelius

Jill Ann Cornelius, 70, of Speedway, left this world suddenly on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Lafayette, due to injuries sustained from a fall. She was born on February 21, 1955, in Danville, Indiana, to the late Dick and Jackie (Lane) Blaydes. One of four children, Jill grew up in Hendricks County and graduated from Danville High School with the class of 1973. After dedicating 25 years of professional service as an agent of Statewide Collections, Jill deservingly retired in 2019. A faithful member of the Ben Davis Christian Church, Jill actively volunteered with Heart Change and He Cares Ministry at her church. Above all, Jill was an incredible mother, wife, and grandmother. The life of the party with a genuine, caring and fun-loving nature, to know Jill was simply to love her. Her radiant smile and bubbly personality were a presence that was welcomed by all. Wholeheartedly committed to the circle of people in which she cherished, Jill was social by nature and always up for a good time. Spending many summers out boating with friends and family on Lake Monroe, they also shared the fun and campfires at Knightridge Campgrounds. Jill found solace in working in her flower beds and surrounding herself with good company. Truly one-of-a-kind Jill will forever be remembered and deeply missed. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ric Blaydes; brother-in-law, Mike Quinn; and canine companion, Momo. Survivors include her loving husband and best friend, Jeff Cornelius of Speedway; children, Josh Uselton of Avon, Charity Clarke (husband, Dave) of Zionsville, Travis Cornelius (wife, Anna), Brevan Cornelius (wife, Kylie), and Tyler Cornelius (wife, Stevie) all of Crawfordsville; siblings, Vicki Blaydes of Louisville, KY and Suzi Phillippe (husband, Tom) of Jackson Hole, WY; sibling-in-laws, Belinda Noyes of Danville, Darlene Steele of Avon, Rick Cornelius of Plainfield, Gary Cornelius of Fishers, Dinah Kehrein of Mooresville, Sherie Quinn of Danville; aunt, Sandy Mohler of Georgia; adored grandchildren, Alexis, Christopher, Katya, Kion, Gavin, Hayden, Harper, Hadley, Graci, Rylie, and Westyn; along with a beloved goldendoodle, Lulu; and a multitude of cherished friends. Visitation will be held from 12pm, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, in Monrovia, until the Celebration of Life Service begins at 2:00pm. Pastor Ryan Heathco will officiate the services and cremation will follow the services. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, beginning at 3:00pm.
