Harold E. Adams

Harold E. Adams, 85, of Monrovia, left this world unexpectedly and without warning on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born on November 1, 1938, in Indianapolis to the late Leonard Vern and Evelyn (Mace) Adams. The oldest of ten children, Harold was a 1957 graduate of Martinsville High School where he fell in love with his high school sweetheart and classmate, Peggy Hyde; to whom he was united in marriage with on December 21st. Shortly after graduating, Harold secured employment at Chrysler, where he was a talented tool and die maker and retired in 2001. He was a past member of the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge and currently a member of the Monrovia Masonic Lodge. In addition, he was a past member of the Monrovia United Methodist Church. A nature lover and a true outdoorsman, Harold thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, boating on the Ohio River, cliff diving, and was a master at trick skiing, and was talented enough to accomplish his feats barefoot. A talented woodworker, he made beautifully crafted furniture, collected knives, and could strum out a tune on his guitar. He reveled in horseback riding and made many accomplishments in his life. An extremely hard worker, he was honest, straight forward perfectionist who was a man of few words. He will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love him. Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Peggy Ann Adams; siblings, Dave Adams, Robert “Bob” Adams, Joseph “Joe” Adams, Lawrence “Larry” Adams, and Daniel “Dan” Adams. Survivors include his four beloved children, Annette Lucciola (husband, Emilio) of Plainfield, Scott Adams of Martinsville, Connie Adams of Mooresville and Julie Henderson (husband, Shawn) of Monrovia; siblings Michael “Mike” Adams (wife Linda), of Florida, Evelyn Hirts (husband Kevin), of Bloomington, Marilyn Kelly (husband Leonard “Bud”), of Brooklyn, and Jaqueline “Jackie” Burns (husband Roy), of Bloomington; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Jake, Lucy, John, Antonio, Phillip, Ryland and Dustin; seven great grandchildren, Addie, Andrew, Austin, Hallie, Emily, Audrey and Maggie, Hazel, Mirabella, Holland, David, and one on the way. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to the Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 7:00p.m., on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia.
