Eric Roberts

Eric Virgil Flanagan Roberts, 29, of Indianapolis and formerly of Monrovia, suddenly passed from this life on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in Marion County. He was born on June 23, 1990, in Indianapolis, to Troy and Mona (Roberts) Flanagan. A friendly and outgoing person, Eric was raised near Hall and attended Monrovia High School with the class of 2007. He was type of person who was known for giving the shirt off his back even if sometimes he needed to borrow it again for a little while. Eric’s demeanor was warm, and he found joy in helping others. Acquiring carpentry skills from his father and absorbing knowledge from his grandmother, Eric built houses, poured concrete, operated his own construction company and was also one of the many laborers called to Louisiana years after Hurricane Katrina. A fan of country and rap music, he taught himself how to play the guitar, piano and even sang at a few shows with his brother’s band. Living in the present with smoke and mirrors, his family takes comfort in his confession of finding Christ when he was baptized and became a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church of Hall in 2003 and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Flanagan and grandmother, Opal Roberts. Survivors include his mother, Mona (Roberts) Flanagan of Indianapolis, brothers, Ricky and Danny Flanagan of Indianapolis, Christopher Roberts (wife, Emily) of Monrovia, Troy Roberts of Indianapolis along with William Roberts of Indianapolis and William “Taylor” Flanagan of Monrovia, Amy Roberts and Angel Flanagan of Indianapolis; nieces and nephews, Nick, Nate, Caleb, Isaac, Gracie, Kaidence, Allison, Jonas, Grace, Faith, Isaac and Mason. Graveside Services will begin at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, in Mt. Pleasant Hall Cemetery, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Close friends and family will meet at the cemetery and a small gathering will be held prior at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia, where they may visit from Noon to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help the family offset funeral and monument expenses, c/o Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, 585, E.
