Donna Belcher

Donna Jo (Cullings) Belcher, 66, of Stilesville, was released of cancer and peacefully concluded her earthly journey on Monday, February 22, 2021, while under hospice comfort and care in Avon. She was born on November 2, 1954, to Forrest "Jack” Lee Cullings and Elouise “Joan” (Miller) Cullings. Growing up with one brother in Marion County, Donna was a 1973 graduate of Northwest High School. Ambitious to pursue a career path, she studied radiologic technology at Indiana University School of Medicine and finished her associates in Science in 1975. Most proud to be a Rad Tech, her previous employments as a x-ray technician included Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, Hendricks Regional Health, and Putnam County Hospital. In 1989, she bought a farm in Little Point and it was there that Donna felt most content and comfortable at home and in the presence of her fur babies. She loved horses, especially Arabians and of course, her cats and dogs too. She was an avid quilter of excellent skill; having made several prize-winning quilts. Donna also loved restoring antique sewing machines and could turn vintage cabinets back into perfect working order. Sometimes paddling without a known parallel, she was eccentrically natured and was in no way was she shy. Positively tuning into her jokes, she was independent, proud and true to face whatever adversity was thrown into her path. Bravely processing her own mortality, Donna was certain that in heaven there would be horses and she found contentment in the 66th year running of living her bucket list. May her memory always remain along with her idea of happy; tossing out pizza bones to all of the Dobermans in heaven. She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest “Jack” Cullings and recently by her beloved min-pin and fur baby, Becca. Donna is survived by her daughter, Megan Lee Belcher of Richmond, Virginia, her mother, Elouise “Joan” Sovay and brother, Allan Cullings, both of Erie, Pennsylvania; a favorite uncle, Bob Miller of Martinsville; cousin, Mark Miller of Paragon; special friend, Anita Custis of Fillmore; and her beloved Arabian horse named Sissy. Her sweet dog, Honey, and two cats were quickly adopted into loving homes by close friends. Per Donna’s wishes, there will be no public services or wake. Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia and her ashes will be returned to her family and scattered at home.
