Daisy L. Hunt

Daisy L. (Tingle) Hunt, 83, of Mooresville passed peacefully from this life on Friday, April 22, 2022, while in the care of St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville and surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 31, 1939, in Shelbyville, KY to the late William and Daisy (Banta) Tingle. One of seven children, Daisy was a 1957 graduate from Eminence High School in Kentucky. After graduation she proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps selflessly serving her country. Upon discharge, she was introduced to the man of her dreams and fellow Marine, Ed Hunt. To say it was love at first sight would be an understatement. The young couple vowed their everlasting love on May 23, 1964, spending the next 57-years devoted to each other whole heartedly. A member of the Gasburg Baptist Church, she obtained work as a cashier at IGA in Mooresville, as well as keeping the books, but her true passion was being a faithful wife and mother. Daisy and her family spent many a weekend on the water enjoying the sun on their boat “Driving Ms. Daisy”. A talented seamstress, she reveled in sewing outfits for her kids, often matching ones. Gifted with the ability to create desserts, Daisy had the ultimate sweet tooth feeding her large family the scrumptious goodies she crafted. Feisty by nature and sometimes cantankerous, she was truly a loving and compassionate matriarch who enjoyed making a fuss over others but preferred not to be fussed over. She treasured her grandchildren intensely, passing on her gentle disposition. With a laugh that would brighten anyone’s day, she will be forever missed. Along with her parents, Daisy is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Catherine Ellis, Luther, Elza, Herbert, Mabel, and Willie Jay Jr. Tingle. She leaves behind her husband Edward Hunt of Mooresville; children, Melody Scott (Clark) of Louisville, KY, Melissa Russel (Doug) of Mooresville, James Hunt (Vicky) of Cloverdale, Fred Hunt (Kerin) of Cabot, AR, Eddie Hunt (Tracy) of Plainfield, and Jeanne Ross (deceased husband, Larry) of Mooresville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren: along with several nieces and nephews and her fur baby, Buster. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Gathering of Friends & Family will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 3:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, with A Celebration of Life Memorial Service beginning promptly at 5:00p.m. with Pastor Ken Wagener officiating.
