Charolett Hood

Charolett Ann (Jones) Hood, 68, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, after battling cancer from within the comfort of her own home and surrounded by family. Charolett was born on June 5, 1955, in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, to her loving mother, Mary Helen (Martin) Romans. One of five siblings, Charolett's family meant everything to her. Sharing in both the joyous moments and hardships of life, she was unwavering to give up or quit, known to speak up if she felt it was needed, and resilient to stand for the sake of those around her. She began employment with Koch's Electric Motor Sales in 1990, where she committed over 20 years of service and was dedicated to her work. In addition to being an industrious employee, Charolett had a deep appreciation for simple pleasures such as working in the yard alongside her husband, in which the two succeeded in creating a beautiful home and oasis. She enjoyed grabbing a quick dinner at Culvers, unwrapping a new set of soft pajamas at Christmas, and watching old westerns. A strong character, she was determined yet compassionate. She was always striving for what she wanted while also wearing her heart on her sleeve and deeply caring for others. This was a strength that extended into every facet of Charolett’s life, whether it was playing games with grandchildren, or hosting family reunions, and family gatherings. Charolett’s passing has left an irreplaceable void and it is a testament to all who were blessed to share in the remarkable woman that she was. May we find solace in our memories as we honor Charolett’s enduring spirit which lives on through each person whose life she touched. Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by infant siblings along with her brother, Douglas Jones and sister, Sandra Hatchet (Bob); and two grandchildren, Brian and Austin Hood. Survivors include her rock and loyal teammate, the love of her life and cherished husband, Jimmy “Gale” Hood of Mooresville; beloved children, Ronald Norwood and Dwayne Norwood (wife, Amanda) both of Indianapolis, Ron Hood (wife, Erica) of Mooresville and Heaven Hood of Martinsville; Sherry Jones (husband, Darrell) of Fairland, and Jimmy Hood of Indianapolis; brother, George Michael “Mike” Jones of Franklin, a host of adored grandchildren, several great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws who were blessed to share in her love. Friends and family are invited to Celebrate Charolett’s Life at Light Memorial Funeral Chapel in Monrovia on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The visitation will be held prior to the service from noon until the Celebration of Life Service immediately follows; starting promptly at 2pm. She will be laid to rest aside her family with the burial concluding services in Fairfield Friends Cemetery, in Camby.
