Charles "Shug" Tincher

Charles N. “Shug” Tincher, 74, of Stilesville, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, in the comfort of his own home. He was born on July 19, 1942, in Putnam County, to the late Wilfred Opal and Edith “Lucille” (Lizby) Tincher. Commonly referred to as “Shug”, Charlie grew up on a farm, where he quickly learned the importance of hard work and discipline. He graduated from Fillmore High School in 1961. He was a machine operator at International Harvester and later for Lear, previously known as Shanendoah. In addition to being a talented mechanic, Mr. Tincher was the founder and past owner of Stilesville Concrete. He had a special sense of humor and straightforward demeanor; allowing everyone the chance to know where they stood with him. Instilled with good values and a strong work ethic, Shug enjoyed spending time with ones close to him, working on cars and splitting wood. Some of his most cherished and memorable times were spent on the farm and in the Tincher Garage, where he often built, created and invented things from scratch. Shug was a talented mechanic, who enjoyed working on cars and splitting wood. Above all, he loved his family, the farm, and his garage. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Sherry Maxwell; siblings, Wayne, Spyder, Orville and Dennis Tincher. Survivors include his daughters, Charla Elmore (husband, Tim) of Stilesville, Sheila Owens (husband, Bill) of Monrovia and Christa Tincher of Monrovia; son-in-law, David Maxwell of Monrovia; brother, Clifford Tincher of Greencastle: special friend and companion, Marcia Linville of Greencastle; grandchildren, David, Amber, Alicia, Natasha, Alyssa, Cameron, Makayla, Damon, Devon and Dillon; great grandchildren, Kelcie, T.J., Alex and Olivia; and a host of loving step-daughters and adopted grandchildren. Friends and family will gather for visitation from 11am-2pm, on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2pm, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall and Pastor Kelly Nichols will officiate services.
