Charles David "Chuck" Day

Charles David "Chuck" Day, 59, of Indianapolis, completed his earthly journey on Friday, January 2, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1966, in Scottsdale, Arizona, to the late James Larry Day and Elvira Rodela, who survives. Growing up on the Westside of Indianapolis, Chuck was born into a large family and was primarily raised by his mother. Rough and rowdy with his brothers and cheerful and carefree with his sisters, Chuck knew how to read the room and in return people seemed to gravitate towards him. He attended Washington High School with the Class of ‘85. A veteran of the United States Army, he was most proud to follow in the Day family footsteps by enlisting to serve his country. Holding various positions, Chuck had worked for his brother’s residential and commercial painting business called Another Beautiful Creation for the last ten years. From the time he could hold a screwdriver, Chuck loved to tinker with a dash of mischievous flair. With a curious interest in small engines and mechanical repairs, he never met a radio he couldn't "improve" by taking it completely apart and upgrading it with louder speakers. Always ready to offer a hand when it came to changing brake pads and oil, he had a knack for auto body work and helping with various restoration and repair projects. A classic rock enthusiast, Chuck was determined and unapologetic for living life on his own terms. Most comfortable and content with a Great American Lager in hand, Chuck thoroughly enjoyed indulging in a cold Budweiser, the King of Beers. Extremely charismatic, he was persuasive, charming, and a master of turning things into his favor. Truly a jack of all trades, he mastered the rare art of living life in the present. His legacy now lives with all who were blessed to share in his journey. Gone but never forgotten, Chuck’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were cool enough to know and love him. He was preceded in death by his father, James Larry Day; and sister, Dolores “Lolly” Cisneros. Survivors include his mother, Elvira Rodela of Indianapolis; daughter, Jessica Raquel Day of Indianapolis; siblings, Robert Cisneros of Indianapolis, David Cardinal (wife, Tabatha) of Upton, Kentucky, Jimmy Day (wife, Lisa) of Indianapolis, Michael Day of Indianapolis, Stephen Day (wife, Teresa) of Indianapolis; Celina Clements (husband, Rusty) of Monrovia; Ana Ruge-Rodela (fiancé, Daniel Marsden) of Elgin, Illinois, Doug Day (wife, Barb), Patty Day both of Beech Grove, and Cindy Williams; 2 grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, in Monrovia. The family plans to host a Celebration of Life Memorial at a later date.
