Blake Hurt

Blake Christopher Hurt, 26, of Brown County and formerly of Monrovia and Mooresville, prematurely passed from this life on Friday, June 18, 2021, while sleeping where he had been living with his grandparents in Nashville, IN. He was born on August 2, 1994, in Martinsville, to Kelly Hurt and Sundae Trice. Blake attended both Mooresville and Monrovia Schools with the class of 2013. Athletically gifted and an extremely talented pitcher, Blake was fortunate enough to share in the experience of playing travel baseball. Holding an immeasurable load of love for his kin and special people, his heart was worn on his sleeve and his knee was generously willing to bend and offer help when he was able. An outgoing, compassionate, and overall happy person, Blake was currently working as a crew member at Caldwell's Custom Landscaping, Decks and Docks. A tattoo enthusiast, Blake's body was a canvas for his impressive collection of varying ink which tells a story in which that is his own. Always dressed to the nines, he took pride in his appearance and staying in tune with his fitness. The guy who was comfortable in a pink shirt, his collars were popped and he was known to wear the whitest of shoes. His hair was always styled and on point and he carried himself with a fly sense of swag. Cracking smiles and generous to sprinkle charm on the ladies, Blake was hot on the ladies. No stranger to struggle either, his happiness was found to shine the brightest when doing for other people. He loved to live and loyal to look after his mother and sister; to whom he was smitten to be fun and cool uncle of three beautiful nieces. A name, face, and soul that was taken too soon, his light and love will continue to live in the hearts of those who are left to endure the void of his presence. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Henry Hunter. Survivors include his parents, Kelly Hurt (stepmom, Nicki) of Clayton and Sundae Trice (stepdad, Lincoln) of Plainfield; sister, Brooke Messer and 3 nieces, Cali Jo, Priscilla, and Cashlyn of Plainfield; stepsiblings, Antonio, Van Derious and Willow; paternal grandparents, Pamela Taylor and George Turner of Nashville, Indiana and William Garfield Hurt of Monrovia; maternal grandparents, Sharon “Gigi” Hunter of Plainfield; children, Sonny Rae Hurt and Stormie Reign-Berlin Saylor; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Friends and Family will gather for visitation held from 5:00pm, until the Celebration of Life Service begins promptly at 7:00pm, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, in Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia with cremation to follow services.
