Billy "Dale" Jackson

Billy “Dale” Jackson, 61, of Indianapolis, passed from this life unexpectedly on December 28, 2020. He was born on June 14, 1959, in Beattyville, Kentucky to the late Billy C. Jackson and Geraldine (Riley) Hudgins, who survives. The oldest of three children, Dale was raised in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. His teenage years were spent in Easton, Illinois, where he proudly graduated with the class of 1978. After high school, Dale secured employment with National By-Products Inc., and after several promotions from within the company, he permanently settled in Indiana. In 1981, Dale married his sweetheart, Terl Still. The young and in love couple started their happy family, raising two children together. As life takes twists and turns, the pair divorced in 1990, but rekindled their love affair last summer, making the announcement to the world for Christmas in 2019. Hardworking and dependable, Dale went to work for Southern Scavenger in 1991 as a commercial driver; The Company was later bought out by Republic Services. He remained a dedicated employee, never missing a day of work, and was adored by his fellow employees. An avid hunter and fisherman, Dale enjoyed spending time in the woods and on the water with his son, father-in-law, and grandsons. He found joy in collecting, frequenting auctions, and searching for lost treasures. A die-hard rock n’ roll fan, Dale preferred listening to old school rock on his turntable, listening to various artists from his album collection. On occasion, he was known to drop to his knees and wail on an air guitar. Ornery to the bone, Dale was a fun-loving soul and the life of the party. Although he could be stubborn at times, he was one to always lend a helping hand, while rarely asking for anything. He loved his family deeply, was taken too soon, and will be greatly missed. Along with his father, Billy C. Jackson, Dale leaves behind his cherished father and mother-in-law, Tracy and Eleanor Still. Dale leaves behind his mother, Geraldine (Riley) Hudgins of Kentucky; bonus mom, Sue Anne Jackson of Kentucky; children, Billy Dale Jackson II, and Samantha Jackson, both of Monrovia; siblings, Steve Brockman (Beth) of Kentucky, and Lori Jackson Decker (Mark) of New York; grandchildren, Brayden, Evan, Magdalena, and Adrian; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur baby, Ruby. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Due to current county and state COVID-19 guidelines, public gatherings have been limited to contain no more than 25 people. All attendees are required to provide and wear their own facial masks throughout the duration of services. Please be mindful of social distancing and avoid all personal contact to slow the spreading of the virus. A Gathering of Friends & Family will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 2:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. at light Memorial & Funeral Chapel, with A Celebration of Life Service beginning promptly at 4:00p.m. Pastor Jeff Burns will officiate, and services will be livestreamed on Light Memorial’s Facebook page.
