Anna B. Sublett

Anna Sublett, 94, of Mooresville, passed peacefully from this life in the early morning hours on Friday, March 24, 2023. She was born in Indianapolis on October 11, 1928, to the late William and Florence (Cullins) Boenkamp. Raised on the east side of Indianapolis during the Great Depression, Anna proudly graduated with the class of 1946 from Arsenal Tech High School. Securing work with AT&T, formerly known as Indiana Bell, she was a diligent employee who devoted several years of hard work to the company, deservingly retiring at 55. In addition, she was an honored sixty-year member of the Mooresville #260 OES. Crafty by nature, Anna was a talented painter and seamstress spending her time creating beautiful works of art, or stitching clothes for family members, as well as welcoming all new babies into the family with a hand-made blanket. For holidays and family birthdays she went all out, ensuring the people she held dearly were given the best gifts. Classy to the bone and fancy to the core, she had a flair for dressing stylishly, impressing those around her. On Sundays, her favorite past time was a leisurely drive absorbing the beauty of nature that surrounded her. With luck on her side, Anna was a prosperous gambler, once winning a brand-new Chevy Lumina, also hitting a ten-thousand-dollar lottery jackpot. Independent and feisty until the end, she was a strong woman who overcame all obstacles life threw at her. Although she was sometimes known to be a bit arduous at times, she deeply loved her family and will be forever missed. Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Sublett, and siblings Howard and John Richard Boenkamp, Virginia Kempler, and Fredda Wagner. She leaves behind her son, Harry D. Cloud (Jackie) of Mooresville; grandson, Marcus Cloud (Laura) of Mooresville, step-grandchildren, Mark Hammonds of Mooresville, and Lynn Weathers (Doug) of Greenwood; along with her great grandchildren, Curtis and Kyle Cloud, both of Mooresville. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Anna’s family will hold a Celebration of Life Gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society, 690 W. Mitchell Ave., Martinsville, IN 46151.
